Drip irrigation is arguably the most efficient method of irrigating. While sprinkler systems are around 75-85% efficient, drip systems are normally at least 90% or even higher. This means much less wasted water.  Drip irrigation has other benefits which make it useful almost anywhere. It is easy to install & easy to design.  Drip irrigation works by applying water slowly, directly to the soil.

Soaker hose allows the water to seep in to the ground through the perforated hose pipe. This means that the water reaches the plant right at base level (the root zone). The soaker hose can even be installed under the ground  giving you even more increased efficiency due to less evaporation and no water run off.. Because the soaker hose gives your plants the correct amount of water at the root of the plant not only are you saving money but as the water is not laying on the plant leaves this can greatly reduce leaf diseases and leaf scorching.
